A New Name, a New Website!

Welcome to our new website. Last year due to some changes within our parent organizations, the International Literacy Association (ILA) and the State of Maryland Literacy Association (SoMLA), we needed to change our name. We became the Anne Arundel County Literacy Chapter.

When we were the Reading Council, our AACRC acronym was super easy to remember. Changing one letter to make it AACLC would have made our friends in the Anne Arundel Literacy Council, a wonderful organization devoted to teaching adults to read, unhappy. So, what to do? For the moment we're going with AACoLitChapter. Not catchy, but it explains who we are!

Now that we have the new name, we needed a new website to be the hub of our organization. We wanted it to reflect the new name, so here we are with a new website. Please be patient as we figure it all out.

We are looking forward to a great new year of events and activity dedicated to promoting literacy in our county and beyond!
